About Haridwar
Haridwar is a holy city on the Ganges where the river leaves the Himalayan foothills, with riverside evening prayers and the Kumbh Mela.
Haridwar stands in Uttarakhand, where the Ganges comes down out of the Shivalik hills and begins its course across the northern plains.
