Itinerario
Guests will begin near The Needle before moving into Quality Hill, one of Kansas City’s oldest and most historic downtown neighborhoods. Once home to the city’s wealthy elite, Quality Hill was built on money, ambition, social status, and the polished image Kansas City wanted the world to see. But beneath that respectability were darker stories of gambling, scandal, violence, and the ordinary workers history often forgot. Travelers will hear how this quiet neighborhood connects to Kansas City’s haunted past, including tales of lingering figures, old-house hauntings, and the troubled life of Sands Hopkins.
Travelers will stop outside the historic Coates House Hotel, a grand landmark tied to Kansas City’s rise as a major Midwest city. Once a symbol of elegance and ambition, the building later became the site of one of the city’s deadliest fires, when twenty people lost their lives in 1978. Guests will hear the chilling legend of the Ghost Bride, look toward the upper windows where strange figures are said to appear, and learn why this old hotel remains one of downtown Kansas City’s most haunted sites.
Guests will see the exterior of the Folly Theater, a historic Kansas City performance venue with a past as colorful as the city itself. Since opening in 1900, the theater has hosted vaudeville, burlesque, music, comedy, and generations of performers and audiences. Its haunted reputation includes stories of longtime manager Joe Donegan, a mysterious well-dressed figure said to still watch over the theater, along with reports of phantom applause, backstage footsteps, and a woman rushing toward the stage as if she never made her final cue.
Travelers will visit the historic Muehlebach Hotel, one of Kansas City’s grandest old hotels and a landmark tied to presidents, politicians, entertainers, brewers, musicians, and powerful guests. This stop explores the hotel’s public glamour and private secrets, from political deals and Jazz Age energy to haunted reports from workers and guests. Guests will hear about the mysterious Blue Lady, vanishing children, unexplained figures, and why some buildings seem to hold onto every secret whispered behind closed doors.

About Kansas City
Kansas City is a Missouri River city with jazz roots, famous barbecue, more than 200 fountains and major museums.
Kansas City sits where the Kansas River meets the Missouri River on the border of Missouri and Kansas, and the main city lies on the Missouri side. It is known as the City of Fountains, and fountains of every size stand in its parks and plazas. Country Club Plaza, a district of Spanish-style buildings with fountains and tiled towers, was among the first planned shopping areas in the country. Union Station, a railway hall of 1914, anchors the old centre.
