But beneath that respectability were darker stories of gambling, scandal, violence, and the ordinary workers history often forgot. Travelers will hear how this quiet neighborhood connects to Kansas City’s haunted past, including tales of lingering figures, old-house hauntings, and the troubled life of Sands Hopkins.
