5Inspirational history
Erman was a great guide. Very informative and very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend. Ephesus was amazing to see.
3Ephesus itself is impressive but the tour disappointing.
We were guided through the highlights of Ephesus and the site itself is so impressive. However there was little chance to ask any detailed questions or explore a little. It felt a bit rushed and superficial. Pick-up and drop off were great. The lunch was of mediocre standard, with far too much time allocated and in a roadside restaurant with nothing at all around it.
5Great guided tour of an amazing site
Ephesus is an amazing archaeological site and well worth the visit. I would highly recommend a guided tour. You can walk through the site yourself and you will see a lot, but a good guide will fill in the “story” of the city and the people who lived there. It brings the place to life and I much prefer a live guide even over the recorded audio tours often available. Our guides for the day were Erman and Alpi. Both were excellent. Clearly spoken, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. They made the day interesting and enjoyable. The tour was well organised. We were picked up right on time, transport was comfortable, driver was good, lunch was good. Nothing to complain about. Tour did include the obligatory stop at a handicraft site with demonstrations and souvenirs available for purchase.
5A memorable day-trip from Izmir to Ephesus
This one-day trip to Ephesus from Izmir was really memorable. Everything worked as planned. A special thanks must go to the guide, Mr. Erman Uslu: He is professionally licensed, knows in detail the region and its rich history, and, most importantly, has a very pleasant and warm personality, which made our trip that much more enjoyable. I recommend wholeheartedly both the trip and the guide.
5Excellent tour and guiding
Wonderful trip with a very good guide. Excellent trip and great value for money.
5Great Guide = Great Experience
Guide Alpi was excellent and very attentive to everyone and details. One of the best guide I've had. He is extremely knowledgeable and made the whole experience entertaining and educational.

About İzmir
İzmir is Turkey's third-largest city, an Aegean port with an old bazaar, a seafront promenade and the ancient ruins of Ephesus and Pergamon within reach.
İzmir, known to the ancient Greeks as Smyrna, lies at the head of a deep gulf on the Aegean coast. Konak Square has an ornate clock tower from 1901 and the small Konak Mosque, and the Kemeraltı bazaar sprawls behind it with workshops, mosques and old caravanserais. The Asansör, a historic lift in the Karataş district, rises to a terrace overlooking the gulf, and a long promenade, the Kordon, runs beside the water.
Top-ranked sights in İzmir: Pergamon (Pergamum), Sardis (Sart), Bergama Asklepion (Pergamon Asclepeion).
