5A Fascinating Subject Brought To Life By An Incredible Guide!
I was lucky enough to join leva for her Regular Walking Tour of Soviet Vilnius, and had the best, most fascinating historical couple of hours. For such a broad, and potentially poignant, subject, leva was able to tell stories and give facts with great warmth and humour. This made the tour incredibly accessible, and whether you are an expert when it comes to life in the Soviet Union, or know very little about it at all, you would enjoy it and take a lot from it. I think what impressed me most was leva's balance of the timeline of Soviet Lithuanian history, providing great context for everything you saw and heard, with the stories of everyday life and how Soviet rule affected the average person in society. She opened up many alien concepts with some truly relatable stories about very real people- some even of her own friends and family. There really was something for everyone on this tour, which gets across the point that you'll be hearing about people, places, and cultures that aren't that different to us and our own lives. An absolute 10/10 tour and I will definitely be taking it again, when I'm next in Vilnius.

5A really excellent tour...
A really excellent tour with a very knowledgeable guide. I would recommend it as a great away to learn a little about the city.
4Would recommend this tour
Informative, eye opening and sometimes funny tour with Leve. And to think that it all happened within the last 40yrs.
5Great overview of the Soviet Occupation of Vilnius
We had an informative tour with a guide who not only understood the significance of the landmarks, but also provided personal perspectives of his parents. His parent had been part of the protests in the 1990’s. It was a group of about 20 people and he packed in a lot of information during the two hour tour.
5Favorite tour ever
This was the best tour we have ever taken and we travel extensively. Our guide Ivea was amazing sharing heartfelt personal stories and telling the history of the Soviet occupation in a serious but also humorous way. Incredible!

About Vilnius
Vilnius is Lithuania's capital, a baroque old town of church towers and courtyards, with a hilltop castle tower and a university founded in 1579.
Vilnius has one of the largest surviving medieval old towns in eastern Europe, a World Heritage site of cobbled lanes, courtyards and dozens of churches, most in baroque style. Gediminas Tower, the remnant of the upper castle, looks over the roofs from a hill, and the neoclassical cathedral stands in the square below. Vilnius University, founded in 1579, has a cluster of courtyards, and the Gate of Dawn holds an icon revered by Catholics and Orthodox believers.
Top-ranked sights in Vilnius: Gate of Dawn (Ausros Vartai), Vilnius University (Vilniaus Universitetas), Vilnius Old Town (Vilniaus Senamiestis).
