Itinéraire

  1. Marvelous Mobile Safari will pick you up from your place of accommodation. We will then proceed to the boat station where you will leave on a mokoro (dugout canoe) for a full day of viewing game, birds and some of Botswana’s most breath-taking scenery. Relax and explore the shallow water-ways in a traditional mokoro. This breathtaking adventure will take you up snaking river channels and through the long grasses or papyrus. It is ideally suited as transport in the Delta as it can move quietly through shallow water, being pushed by a Poler using a long pole. Your day will be spent with a guide gliding silently down waterways, a 1 hour game walk, as well as a picnic lunch. After lunch you may rest in a shady, beautiful setting to soak up the peace and serenity of the Okavango Delta. Also included in the rate for this trip are park fees. With the sound of birdsong and the serenity of the river, a mokoro trip has been described as the ultimate experience in Botswana.

About Maun

Maun, on the edge of the Kalahari in northern Botswana, is the gateway town for the Okavango Delta and the wildlife reserves around it.

Maun lies on the Thamalakane River at the southern edge of the Okavango Delta, a dry-land town that has grown into the safari hub of Botswana. Its streets are low and spread out, with shops, markets and a busy airport where light planes leave for lodges and airstrips across the delta. It has long been the main town of the Batawana people and of the cattle country of Ngamiland.
