Points forts
Our first stop is the enchanting village of Eguisheim. Stroll through its narrow streets, admire the colorful half-timbered houses and soak up its medieval atmosphere. Then we head to Kaysersberg, another Alsatian pearl. Let yourself be amazed by its traditional architecture, its fortified bridge and its rich heritage. We will take a short break at the Sigolsheim Necropolis where you will have a panorama of the Alsace Wine Route. The next destination is Riquewihr, famous for its medieval charm. You will have free time to have lunch there. Then, we will visit the majestic Château du Haut-Koenigsbourg. Entrance to the castle is included in our tour, allowing you to explore the different rooms, wander the courtyards and admire the architectural beauty of this medieval fortress. About Colmar
Colmar, in Alsace, is a half-timbered wine town of flower-lined canals and pastel houses, set between the Vosges mountains and the Rhine.
Colmar's old town is a compact maze of half-timbered houses with steep gables, painted in blues, pinks and ochres, around the Church of St Martin. The Maison des Têtes, covered in carved faces, and the Pfister House are among the finest. In Petite Venise, flower-hung houses stand along the Lauch river, and flat-bottomed boats glide beneath the bridges. Auguste Bartholdi, the sculptor of the Statue of Liberty, was born in Colmar.
Top-ranked sights in Colmar: Little Venice (Petite Venise), Unterlinden Museum (Musee Unterlinden), St. Martin's Church (Eglise St-Martin).
