  • 5A Comfortable and Well-Organized Journey to Uyuni

We are very positive surprised about the trip. Active comminication for all necessary information, pick up from our hotel with very helpful and kind guide Miguel, good pizza on board and confortable seats. We arrived perfectly on time in Uyuni and finally special thanks to Saida for the support after arrival.

  • 1Uncomfortable

The bus looked luxurious but a lot of the seats were broken. The man in front of me had a broken seat and kept reclining the whole way back and onto my legs. It felt like my knees were being crushed. When I said it to the guide he just brushed it off. Also it says there’s charging ports but they actually don’t work. So I arrived to Uyuni with no battery in my phone. It advertises a luxury bus but in reality it can be quite uncomfortable.

  • 1Terrible - Would not recommend!

Our experience with this tour was extremely disappointing from start to finish. To begin with, our guide showed up late at our hotel on a holiday, which caused us to miss our scheduled bus. Instead, we had to walk and take two separate cable cars just to reach a different bus terminal—and then wait in the freezing cold for almost an hour. This was especially frustrating since we had already paid for a direct hotel pickup. When we finally got on the bus, the guide was carrying around our “meals,” which turned out to be cold pizza and lasagna. The food was awful. On top of that, the air conditioning either wasn’t working or wasn’t turned on, while the radiators were blasting heat all night. It was impossible to sleep because the bus was unbearably hot. Breakfast was another disappointment. We had to walk ten minutes in freezing weather to a café, only to be served cold bread and butter with a black coffee that was bitter and undrinkable—no milk provided. Overall, the entire package felt like a complete joke. What they advertise and what you actually get are two completely different things.

  • 3Good the team, not the bus

We took the bus from La Paz to Uyuni and back. Miguel was very kind to us. He served us pizza for dinner and breakfast on the way back. He picked us up at the hotel and helped us get a taxi back. The only problem I had was with the bus: both the outbound and return journeys were too hot. The window radiators were burning, and all the windows were closed. I didn't get any sleep. The legroom is tight, and if you fold down the seat in front, you can't fit.

  • 4Comfort and safety.

Comfortable and a good alternative when there are no flights available to Uyuni or La Paz. Drive is smooth and sleep is satisfactory.

  • 2Overnight bus

The service ran on time and got us safely to our destination, which we appreciated. However, the overall experience was disappointing. The bus was quite old and noisy, and we felt every bump in the road. Dinner consisted of cold pizza, and breakfast required a fairly long walk into town — which we knew we’d have to do eventually, but still felt poorly planned. The included breakfast was just three small slices of toast with butter and jam, and coffee that was undrinkable. We ended up ordering our own, which was fine. There was no Wi-Fi on board, and with the seat in front reclined, it was difficult to find a comfortable position for our legs. Given the price we paid, we expected a higher level of comfort and service.

About La Paz

La Paz is Bolivia's seat of government, a high-altitude city in a canyon below Illimani, linked by cable car and known for its markets.

La Paz fills a steep canyon on the Altiplano, between roughly 3,200 and 4,000 metres above sea level, with the snowy peak of Illimani standing over its southern edge. Sucre is the constitutional capital, but the government sits here. Plaza Murillo holds the cathedral and the presidential palace, and nearby Calle Jaén keeps colonial houses and small museums.

Top-ranked sights in La Paz: San Francisco Church, Plaza Murillo, Witches' Market (Mercado de las Brujas).
