Itinéraire
A monastery located about an hours drive away from Yerevan, which offers an amazing view of Armenia’s defining symbol – the majestic mount Ararat. “Khor Virap” translates as “deep dungeon”, and was built of the place of the former royal prison, located on the historical site of Artashat. It was this very prison in which they kept Gregory the Illuminator, the first Armenian Catholicos, for a whole 13 years.
The only standing heathen temple in the whole post-Soviet area. The temple gracefully stands on a high plateau overlooking the Azat river gorge. The surrounding area itself is incredibly beautiful. The greek-roman bath house with the mosaic, made out of 30,000 pieces of natural stones, as well as the ruins of the royal palace, will take you to 3rd century A.D.
Garni Gorge is a stunning natural attraction located in Armenia, near the village of Garni. It is also known as the "Symphony of Stones" due to its unique rock formations that create a beautiful symphony of colors and shapes. * The visit to the Symphony of Stones is subject to weather conditions.
The next stop of the tour is the monastic complex of Geghard. Translated into English as “Monastery of the Holy Lance”, it refers to the lance with which Longinus pierced Jesus. Later brought to Armenia and kept in the Geghard monastery for 5 centuries. The most astonishing part is the virtue of the architect, who cut the church right into the solid rock.
Often referred to as "The Jewel of Armenia," Lake Sevan is the largest freshwater lake in the Caucasus region, situated at an impressive altitude of 1,900 meters above sea level. Its stunning natural beauty and serene surroundings make it a top destination for both locals and tourists alike.
A monastery located on the peninsula of Lake Sevan, from where one can admire an unforgettable panoramic view of the lake from the top.

About Yerevan
Yerevan is Armenia's pink-stoned capital, a city of wide squares, café terraces and museums, with Mount Ararat standing on its southern skyline.
The city grew around Erebuni, a fortress founded in 782 BC, though most of today's centre was built in the Soviet era from the soft pink and orange tuff that earned Yerevan its nickname, the Pink City. Republic Square is the hub, framed by government buildings and museums. The Cascade, a giant stairway of terraces and sculpture, climbs a hillside, and the Matenadaran holds a famous collection of medieval manuscripts.
Top-ranked sights in Yerevan: Republic Square, Tsaghkadzor Ropeway, Matenadaran (Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts).
