About Honfleur
Honfleur is a small harbour town on the Seine estuary in Normandy, with a basin lined by tall slate-fronted houses and a church built of wood.
Honfleur sits on the south bank of the Seine estuary, opposite Le Havre, and has been a port since the Middle Ages. The Vieux Bassin, its old harbour, is ringed by tall, narrow houses with slate-covered fronts, cafés and fishing boats, and the Pont de Normandie, a cable-stayed bridge, spans the estuary nearby. Samuel de Champlain sailed from here in 1608 to found Quebec.
