From beautiful wrecks and the steep and amazing drop-offs on the eastern side of the island to the healthy and lush coral reefs in the west, we’ll take you there. About Willemstad
Willemstad, the capital of Curaçao, is a Caribbean port of pastel Dutch gabled houses, a floating bridge and a UNESCO-listed old town.
Willemstad is built around St Anna Bay, the inlet that splits the town into Punda and Otrobanda. Rows of pastel merchants' houses in Dutch colonial style line the Handelskade waterfront, and a pontoon footbridge, the Queen Emma Bridge, swings open for ships. The historic centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Mikvé Israel-Emanuel synagogue, with its sand floor, is among the oldest in the Americas.
