Points forts

The special thing about this experience is that it goes beyond a simple cooking class: it is an authentic immersion in the gastronomic heart of Guatemala. Guided by a local cook, it combines hands-on learning with living tradition, allowing you to choose between visiting the market to learn about and select fresh ingredients or start cooking directly. During the activity, you will not only prepare emblematic dishes such as cucumber and banana mole, but you will learn ancient techniques passed down from generation to generation, including making traditional comal tortillas by hand. The experience is complemented by a cultural introduction that explains the symbolism and roots of Guatemalan cuisine, offering a complete, authentic and participatory approach.

About Antigua

Antigua Guatemala is a colonial city of cobbled streets, ruined churches and pastel façades, ringed by three volcanoes in the Guatemalan highlands.

Antigua was the capital of Spanish Guatemala until earthquakes in 1773 led to the move of the government to the present capital. The grid of cobbled streets and low colonial houses survived, together with the ruins of grand churches and convents, and the town is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The yellow Santa Catalina Arch, with its clock tower, frames Volcán de Agua at the end of a street.

Top-ranked sights in Antigua: Antigua Central Park (Parque Central), Cerro de la Cruz (Hill of the Cross), La Merced Church (Iglesia de la Merced).
