Points forts

The combined excursion is rich in discovery because it allows you to visit several exceptional sites of Rangiroa in one day. Passing through Tiputa Pass famous for its dolphins, the aquarium (coral garden) as well as Reef Island and the Blue Lagoon, you are promised a memorable and emotional day. The distance from one site to another requires us to spend three hours by boat divided into three portions of about an hour each. We quickly forget the sailing time with the beauty of the landscapes and the sympathy of the team. Rangiroa Activities is the leader in quality tourist excursions on Rangiroa.

  • 5The weather wasn’t great,...

The weather wasn’t great, but the rough seas turned the boat ride into a rollercoaster — it was so thrilling! The captain was very experienced and kept us feeling completely safe. We also accidentally ended up at a birthday party for a woman on the island, watching everyone sing and have fun. It was really joyful.

  • 5Aquarium and Blue Lagoon Tour.

This was a full day tour. Definitely would recommend. Great snorkeling at the Aquarium. Then we went to Blue Lagoon, water was gorgeous, saw baby tiger sharks. The lunch they served was a feast. Tour was topped off with a drift snorkel on our way back to the pier. You won't be disappointed if you book the tour. I contacted Rangiroa Activities directly, they made tour that was compatible with our Windstar Cruise arrival and departure time.

  • 5GREAT tour. A day you will not forget

A most amazing day. Brando and Momo met us at the tender dock (we are on a Windstar cruise). First stop was the aquarium for snorkeling. Lots of fish and a Titan Trigger fish that was very cool. Then a half hour ride across the lagoon to a private motu on the blue lagoon. We were greeted by 30 or so juvenile black tip reef sharks in the shallow waters. They were not threatening and we liked sitting in the water and having them circle around us. A little more snorkeling, a short walk through a cool jungle and a great BBQ lunch of grilled fish, raw tuna, chicken and rice all made right there on the motu. Brando and Momo were funny, informative and engaging. Would have given them 6 stars if available.

  • 5Enjoyable day in the water

Action packed day, visiting Reef Island, Blue Lagoon where we enjoyed a fresh local meal and wine from Rangiroa. Our guide was an awesome storyteller of the history of the island, he also gave a demonstration on how to make a purse from palm leaves. Final stop was the coral gardens for a snorkel stop.

  • 3Terrifying

This tour was the worst tour I have ever been on because of the boating conditions - 3+ hours of severe pounding on the waves to get to and between our stops. I incurred over $600.00 in medical expenses to have my back x-rayed and anti-inflammation shots as well as pain shots and prescriptions. The crew should have put the oldest tourists in the back of the boat and slowed down, once we expressed our terror and discomfort! Do not take this tour if the weather conditions are the least bit rough - there were white caps! Should have been cancelled. Like a Tower of Terror amusement ride that never ended!

  • 5Long boat rides made worthwhile due to the beauty of the places we saw

This was a really fun tour because the places we went to: Reef Island, Blue Lagoon were amazing. The Aquarium snorkeling was fine, but there was not much to see so the group stayed in the water for maybe 15 minutes max. We read before that the ride is bumpy, and this is especially true on the return. If your back is sore it may not be the best tour, as the bumpy rides last for one hour each because the lagoon is large. The guides were friendly and competent. If you are English speaking only, you may not get much explanation. The guides do try their best to communicate, but they do not actually know much English. It was oK for us because one person in our party speaks French.

About Rangiroa

Rangiroa is a ring of coral islets in the Tuamotu archipelago of French Polynesia, enclosing one of the largest lagoons in the group.

Rangiroa is a long atoll of narrow islets around a lagoon, lying about 350 kilometres north-east of Tahiti. Its villages sit along the islets, which are edged with coconut palms, and the lagoon stays calm inside the ring of reef. Most visitors arrive by small plane from Tahiti.
