Embark on an unforgettable adventure as you ascend Europe's tallest active volcano, Mount Etna, and witness the mesmerizing spectacle of a Sicilian sunset. Your journey begins with a scenic drive up the slopes of Mount Etna, where you'll marvel at the ever-changing volcanic landscapes and the breathtaking panorama of the surrounding countryside. As you reach higher elevations, you'll be enveloped by the otherworldly beauty of the mountain's stark lava flows and ancient craters.
Crossing ancient lava flows adorned by yellow-flowered gorse shrubs and sporadically growing green vegetation. The tour starts in a lava cave, where we will safely walk around below the volcano’s surface with flashlights and helmets. Then, we will continue our next part of the walking tour to 2000m venturing in lunar landscapes, lava bombs, and craters, all while admiring a breathtaking view of the Ionian coast, from the Gulf of Catania to Calabria. The sunset light will make your experience unforgettable! The remaining hours are allotted for the travel time.
The Silvestri Craters are two inactive volcanic craters located on the southeastern slope of Mount Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe. They are named after the Silvestri family, who owned the land on which they were formed. The cones are located at an altitude of around 1,900 meters (6,234 feet) above sea level and are easily accessible from the main road that leads to the Etna South Rifugio. Today, the Silvestri Craters are a popular tourist destination. Visitors can hike to the craters and explore the inside of the cones. The views from the craters are stunning, and visitors can also see the other active craters of Mount Etna in the distance. The remaining hours are allotted for the travel time.

Catania, on Sicily's east coast, is a black lava-stone city beneath Mount Etna, with a noisy fish market, Baroque squares and a long seafront.
Catania lies at the foot of Mount Etna, the active volcano whose lava reached the city in 1669, and an earthquake in 1693 flattened it. Rebuilt in the eighteenth century in the Baroque style, it uses black lava stone for walls and paving, set against white limestone. The Piazza del Duomo has an elephant of lava stone carrying an obelisk, the cathedral of Sant'Agata, and a fountain.
Top-ranked sights in Catania: Piazza Duomo, Via Crociferi (Via dei Crociferi) , Gambino Winery (Vini Gambino).
