The Cathedral of Syracuse, officially the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Nativity of Mary Most Holy, is the main place of Catholic worship in the city of Syracuse and the archiepiscopal seat of the metropolitan archdiocese of the same name.
Fonte Aretusa is a body of water on the island of Ortigia, in the oldest part of the Sicilian city of Syracuse. Its origin is the development of one of the many outlets of the water table that is located in the Syracuse, the aquifer that also feeds the Ciane river on the opposite side of the port. It has a double circular shape, with a circular structure inside, or a double concentric circle.
The temple of Apollo is one of the most important monuments of Syracuse. It is located on the island of Ortigia, off July 25 and in Piazza Emanuele Pancali. It is certainly the oldest Doric temple in the Greek West.
The Maniace castle (in dialect Maniaci castle) is one of the most important monuments of the Swabian period in Syracuse and one of the most famous Frederick castles.
The fountain faces south and highlights the figure of Diana with bow and dog, the attributes of the goddess of hunting, protector of Ortygia in Greek times.
