Riomaggiore, like the other Cinque Terre, is squeezed between the Ligurian Sea and the steep mountain range that detaches itself from the Apennines at Mount Zatta and descends in a south-eastern direction, acting as a watershed between the Val di Vara and the coastal area. The historic center, whose original nucleus dates back to the 13th century, is located in the valley of the Rio Maggiore stream, the ancient Rivus Major from which the village takes its name
In Manarola, can relax by bathing in the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea, taste typical products in the local shops or wander around this small fishing village part of a territory declared a UNESCO heritage site
Vernazza is the second of the towns that make up the Cinque Terre, in a bay between the municipalities of Monterosso al Mare and Riomaggiore. It also includes the subsequent village of Corniglia, a fraction of it.
Monterosso al Mare is at the center of a small natural gulf, protected by a modest artificial reef, to the east of Punta Mesco on the La Spezia Riviera. It constitutes the westernmost part of the Cinque Terre.

3Difficult Walking
Very difficult walking including countless staircases with irregular steps of stones. Tour guide was not easy to understand.
5Highly recommend!
We’ve done six different tours on our vacation and this was by far our favorite. Visiting the five towns of Cinque Terre was a highlight. Tiziana was exceptional, with her insight and humor. She made traveling by train from town to town seamless. It was really terrific! Highly recommend this tour with Tiziana.
5Lots of walking but so...
Lots of walking but so worth it. Magnificent site, great food, breathtaking views and architecture. Linda, our guide, was so patient and knowledgeable, passionate with her job.
5Very recommended tour.
Lara is a very attentive and full of knowledge about cinque terre. She is always ready to answer your question and very helpful. Very recommended if you are on a cruise ship.
5Great way to see the villages!
Our tour guide Lara was great! The villages were extremely crowded but still absolutely beautiful. It was a great excursion!
2Wouldn’t recommend this trip with a guide.
It was an interesting experience but we could have done it on our own. The guide didn’t add any significant value to the trip. It was disorganized. The meeting place was wrong. There were 10 in the group and there should have been a WhatsApp group to let everyone know the times of meeting. No tickets were distributed???

About La Spezia
La Spezia is a Ligurian port on the Gulf of Poets, with a naval harbour, museums and the main rail gateway to the Cinque Terre villages and Portovenere.
La Spezia lies at the head of a deep gulf on the Ligurian coast, ringed by hills of olive groves and sheltered by a long breakwater. It is an important naval base as well as a commercial port, and a seafront promenade, Passeggiata Morin, runs beside the harbour. The Amedeo Lia Museum holds paintings and medieval works, and the Castello di San Giorgio on a hill above keeps finds from the area.
