About Buffalo
Buffalo is a lake city in western New York at the end of the Erie Canal, near Niagara Falls, known for chicken wings, grand architecture and snowy winters.
Buffalo stands on the eastern shore of Lake Erie where the Niagara River begins, in western New York State. As the western end of the Erie Canal, it grew into a grain and rail city and left behind remarkable buildings: the Art Deco City Hall with its tall tower, Louis Sullivan's Guaranty Building, and the Darwin Martin House, a Prairie-style house by Frank Lloyd Wright. Frederick Law Olmsted laid out its parks and tree-lined parkways.
