About Pondicherry
Pondicherry, also called Puducherry, is a former French colony on the Bay of Bengal, with a seafront promenade, yellow villas and Auroville nearby.
Pondicherry, renamed Puducherry in 2006, lies on the Coromandel Coast of south-east India and was ruled by France until the 1950s.
