  • 5RYM our GUIDE provided a 5 STAR EXPERIENCE

Five stars for Rym, an EXCEPTIONAL GUIDE who made Algeria unforgettable, and also for Fancyellow Tours! We booked directly through Fancyellow Tours and Islam arranged everything. His communication skills were excellent, answering my numerous questions and ensuring he connected us with the proper guide as well as ensuring our specific needs were met in regard to a newer vehicle for safety reasons and including air-conditioning. Rym was absolutely the BEST. She was our guide on both our Best of Algiers and Cherchell–Tipaza tours. Her excellent English, warm personality and engaging explanations brought the Casbah, Notre-Dame d’Afrique and Tipaza’s Roman ruins to life. Rym’s guidance gave us a REMARKABLE understanding of Algeria’s history and culture in a short time. With my husband having been born in Algeria, these tours were especially meaningful, connecting us to his roots and bringing his heritage to life. Rym went above and beyond, taking photos and videos of us and even offering to create and send us a keepsake video. Her thoughtfulness made our visit extra special. We wholeheartedly recommend Rym, Islam and Fancyellow! Ensure that you ask for RYM so she can make your time as special as she made ours!

  • 5Cherchell, Tipaza and Algiers

Thanks to Zaki and Fancyellow for the tour of Cherchell and Tipaza. It was a really great day. Communication was great, logistics worked well, and Zaki was a great guide, hugely knowledgeable. I am sure he’s done this tour a hundred times but it didn’t sound like that. As well as the sights, many interesting insights into Algerian life. Thanks also to the driver whose name I missed. This was a solo tour, so just the three of us. I recommend the sardines at the fish restaurant in Tipaza (Zaki knows which one). And finally if you’re not sure about Algeria and whether it’s worth the trip let me reassure you it definitely is.

  • 5Really informative and friendly guide

Great tour with a really informative and friendly guide who spoke excellent English. She was very happy to answer questions and also to talk about Algeria more broadly. The car was air conditioned and they arrived at our hotel on time.

  • 5Great day out

The day trip to Tipaza and Cherchell was a great option to explore some of Algeria beyond Algiers. Learning about the history and the ancient cities was fascinating and an ideal way to spend the day. The driver and the guides were both excellent and we left having had an excellent day on the Algerian coast

About Algiers

Algiers rises in white terraces above a wide Mediterranean bay, with an Ottoman-era Casbah, French colonial boulevards and a vast modern mosque.

Algiers is the capital and largest city of Algeria, built on steep hills that fall to the sea. Its old quarter, the Casbah, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site of stepped lanes and courtyard houses, with the Ketchaoua Mosque near its foot. Below it, boulevards from the French period face the harbour, and the Grande Poste, a white building in Neo-Moorish style, is one of the best-known landmarks.
