- The Maldives is a Muslim country and care needs to be taken in relation to the dress code on local islands. Whilst it is acceptable for men to wear T Shirts and shorts or swim shorts; females should avoid causing offence by maintaining a more conservative approach to clothes by wearing T Shirts, loose shorts or sarongs. About Hulhulé
Hulhulé is the island beside Malé in the Maldives that holds the country's main airport, joined by a bridge to the capital and a causeway to Hulhumalé.
Hulhulé is a long, narrow island in North Malé Atoll, almost entirely taken up by Velana International Airport, the main gateway to the Maldives. The capital, Malé, lies a short boat ride away to the south-west across the channel, and a bridge linking the two islands opened in 2018. A causeway joins Hulhulé to Hulhumalé, a reclaimed island to the north.
