In the course of the tour, a quick stop is foreseen at Beaufort in order for you to take some nice pictures to remember. During the Spring and Summer, you'll have the opportunity to visit the Castle, a Neo gothic architecture and its impressive ruins.
The small medieval town of Vianden attracts thousands of visitors every year. Particularly worth seeing are the imposing castle that overlooks the town, the town wall with its fortified towers and Luxembourg's only chairlift. During this stop, you'll have free time to visit the sights. We recommend that you bring a snack or a sandwich if you don't want to waste time in a restaurant. Otherwise, the time of the visit might be too short
Our last stop before returning to Luxembourg City is the old town Echternach. This ancient town was founded in 698 by the Benedictine monk Willibrord. Here, you can visit the most beautiful places and buildings of Echternach, like the Basilica, the abbey and the market square.

5Excellent Day Trip In Luxembourg
Really enjoyed this day trip. Luxembourg City is an excellent place to visit but this tour also allows you to explore and experience other parts of Luxembourg. Would definitely recommend.
2Not great
While the sights and scenery were great, the tour itself was not. It’s a very small bus crammed with 19 people. There is no tour guide. It’s a pre-recorded audio tape that after every stop has to be reset to English. It defaults to Dutch. The driver, did not speak English. A competent driver but not a tour guide. You’ll get a guide at the Falls and for the tour of the church, but otherwise, you are on your own. The pre-recorded audio tape is difficult to follow given traffic, stoplights etc. I was in a single seat as I had to split-up from my friend. My audio plug in was in the seat behind me. I had to constantly reach behind me (in front of the person sitting in that seat) to change the channel to English.
4Nature and Castles!
This was a very good tour. The meeting place was easy to find and the size of the bus was perfect for a small group. The driver was pleasant and punctual. Patrick, the guide at the water falls, was knowledgeable and very engaging. I wished the time at the falls had been longer. It was very crowded, felt rushed, and it was difficult to take it all in. The castles were the highlight! Echternach was the only weak stop. There was no guide and we just wandered around. I would have liked more time at the waterfall and castles and less time in Echternach if there isn’t a guide but all in all it was a wonderful experience.
5This tour is fabulous....
This tour is fabulous. The nature hike is beautiful and we got amazing pictures. Patrick our guide was great. We saw 2 castles and really enjoyed Vianden and the history. The town is also very nice with places to catch a quick snack after touring the castle. The Abbey of Echternach was amazing. We really enjoyed this tour and would highly recommend it.
3Tour of Luxembourg outside city
This tour is mostly just being driven to places. The bus was safe and clean. The driver spoke mostly French with no English and there is not interactive talking with the group or information along the way so if looking for that kind of tour this is not it. You get a head set with facts on the drive. The waterfall tour guide did speak English and he was very nice. Hard to hear as busy there and lots of dogs and motorcycles driving by. Also barely any stops to take photos. We had to miss the last part he talked about as we hiked down to the rocks to photos and see the waterfall. The castles were both very good and Vianden the town is nice. Bring water and snacks for the ride. None provided and only a couple places to pick them up. Vianden we did the cattle quickly and then only a couple spots for lunch that were busy. We lucked out with a nice waiter. The last stop we did not have a tour and just free time to check out the town. We enjoyed but wished we drove ourselves for more time at places and did not gain much extra from tour guide.
5Perfect Day Trip
It started at a perfect time (not too early so had time for breakfast), easy to find meeting location, AC shuttle & it was not too much driving compared to sightseeing. We took a lovely nature walk guided by Patrick who was wonderful, informative & full of character. We had plenty of time to see both castles, they even had a Renaissance fair at Viaden which made it even more cool. The final stop with Gaby was very informative as well. I felt like I saw a lot and the day was perfect and it was just at the right pace. The only small negative was our driver didnt speak much english & it would have been nice to know how far our next stops would be, but with signs he communicated effectively the pickup times/locations. I highly recommend spending the day this way!

About Luxembourg City
Luxembourg City is the capital of the Grand Duchy, a hilltop fortress city of deep gorges, old ramparts and European institutions.
Luxembourg City stands on a rocky plateau cut by the gorges of the Alzette and Pétrusse rivers, and its old quarters and fortifications are a World Heritage Site. The Bock Promontory, with tunnels and casemates carved into the rock, was first fortified in 963, and the Corniche promenade follows the old ramparts above the Grund, the old lower town. The Grand Ducal Palace stands in the old town, and the Cathedral of Notre-Dame was begun by the Jesuits in the early seventeenth century.
