  • 3Not what we paid for

We paid for funday but they put us on a maho and orient beach tour. They said it was the same tour but it was not. It had less stops and we paid $60 Per person for a $45 per person tour. I reached out to the vendor but they did not respond. The tour was fine but it felt a little bit like a bait and switch.

  • 2Disappointed

After we finally found the location of our tour, we were pleasantly surprised to see it was only our family of 6 on the tour. Ricardo was difficult to understand as he frequently got right/left mixed up. The tour included unlimited water, sodas, beer and rum punch. He had a small cooler with small waters and was out as soon as we all had one. No big deal, but that along with the “tour” just telling us where stores/ restaurants were along the route and things like who put in the round about, it was a lot of driving with very little stop time and not interesting. We only stopped at Orient beach for 20 min. We really wanted to stop at Maho beach and he acted like we were asking for something outside of what the tour included. We stopped for 30 minutes. He wanted us to determine the length of time we stayed, which would be fine if we were familiar with the route and knew how many stops were left. We ended up getting done quite a bit early. A little interaction and guidance would have been helpful. It just seemed like a lot of driving, looking at nothing. He did drop half off is off at the Philipsburg beach/shops and the other half at the ship so that was nice. The beach group just took the water taxis over to the ship for $5. I wouldn’t take this tour again.

  • 5Great fun!

Great experience but confusing to find them. Walk all the way past the taxis and before the exit, there's a parking lot to the left. You'll find the van with the yellow stripe there (and Ricardo was wearing a yellow shirt). Don't forget cash to tip. Ricardo was super nice and I'd very proud of the island!

  • 3Tour was good but we did...

Tour was good but we did not spend time at all at orient beach. Would look for a private tour next time.

About Philipsburg

Philipsburg, capital of Dutch Sint Maarten, is a narrow town between a long sandy bay and a salt pond, with a beachfront street of shops.

Philipsburg stands on a narrow strip of land between Great Bay and the Great Salt Pond, on the Dutch side of the island of Saint Martin, which is shared with France. It was founded in 1763 and named after John Philips, a Scottish captain in Dutch service. Front Street runs along the bay, lined with shops, cafés and old wooden houses, and a boardwalk follows the sand. Wathey Square, with its courthouse of 1793, is the heart of the town.
