5Great cultural tour
Marvin created a perfect cultural tour of Roatan for us. He is a great communicator with loads of local knowledge. We explored places on the island we could never have found ourselves. I highly recommend him for a customized small group tour.
5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Family-Owned Roatan Adventure!
We had an excellent experience with Custom Roatan Adventures, a wonderful family-owned and operated business. From start to finish, everything was personal, relaxed, and well organized. Our tour guide, Marvin, did a fantastic job showing us around Roatan and making the day enjoyable. Marvin took us to some great lookout points, through Coxen Hole, and to several unique local attractions that gave us a real taste of Roatan. 🍹 Roatan Gifiti Factory – We learned about Gifiti, a traditional Garifuna herbal elixir rooted in ancestral coastal traditions. It is made with roots, herbs, spices, and premium rum, with some modern infusions such as Hibiscus and Espresso. A really interesting stop and a great opportunity to learn about local culture. 🍫 Mayak Chocolate Factory – Located just outside West End, they offer free educational presentations about cacao harvesting, along with tastings and reasonably priced chocolate bars. Definitely worth a stop for chocolate lovers! 🐒🦥 AJ's Monkeys and Sloths – And finally, our favorite stop! We got to meet some of Roatan’s most beloved residents — white-faced monkeys, sloths, and tropical birds — in a safe, natural environment focused on wildlife education and conservation. Getting up close with these animals was an unforgettable experience. Most importantly, Marvin made the day special. He was knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and genuinely seemed to enjoy sharing his island with us. If you're visiting Roatan and want to see more than just the typical tourist stops, I highly recommend Custom Roatan Adventures. Supporting a local family business while getting an authentic, safe and memorable experience made this excursion one of the highlights of our trip. Thank you, Marvin, and Custom Roatan Adventures! 5The best tour of the real Roatan ever, hands down
Absolutely stellar tour with Junior today. He’s my new brother and good friend on the island. My wife and I made a lot of memories today with his expert guidance. He knew EXACTLY the places we wanted to go and see. More than that, he was genuinely interested in sharing our cultures and talking about life on the island and our lives back home. It was a real bonding experience that I could never have expected. Much love for Roatan now and I hope our return visit is soon!
5Best day ever!
Junior gave us THE BEST DAY EVER!! Seriously, if you don't book here & ask for Junior to be your guide, you're doing it all wrong. He took what I wanted to do & amplified it by a million. He picked us up at the cruise dock in Coxen Hole and showed us around there, then we headed to West End to a chocolate factory, then we ended up at Sunset Sport Bar for the best margaritas & ceviche I've ever had, and it was on this tiny secluded strip of beach with lounge chairs, it was exactly what I had asked for. We ended the day by grabbing food from a small roadside food stand & ate it at a covered area over the water with picnic tables, next to the big Roatan sign. He makes his own limonade too & provides bottles of it for free. It was some of the best limonade I've ever had. He invited us fully into his culture, immersed us in the real Roatan (not the tourist version) and is now my new brother. You will not be disappointed if you hire him! 20/10 recommend.
5Wonderful Way to Explore Roatán!
We had an absolutely wonderful experience exploring Roatán, Honduras with our tour guide, Wandy! ❤️ She was incredibly kind, accommodating, knowledgeable, and made the entire day feel relaxed and personalized. Our custom tour included a beautiful drive around the island, a visit to an animal sanctuary where we got to feed a sloth, see so many guinea pigs and beautiful macaws, and even have capuchin monkeys jump onto our heads while they ate! 🦥🦜🐒 It was such a fun and memorable experience! We also visited a Jade Museum and jewelry shop, enjoyed a chocolate tasting 🍫, had a rum tasting 🥃, and even made an unexpected stop at the supermarket at my mom’s request! 😂 Wandy was so accommodating and never made us feel rushed. She shared so much about the island and its history, and you could truly tell how much she loves Roatán. Having someone so friendly and knowledgeable made our day even more special. I would highly recommend this tour and Wandy to anyone visiting Roatán who wants to see the island, experience some of its highlights, and have a tour that can be customized to your interests. We had an amazing time and left with wonderful memories! 🇭🇳❤️ Thank you, Wandy, for such a fantastic day!

We also had an excellent tour with Marvin, who was knowledgeable, patient, and accommodating. He shared great insight about the island, its culture, and the best places to visit, and went above and beyond to make our experience special. Roatán was our favorite port stop. We traveled as 3 girls and I felt completely safe the entire time. We were able to explore, enjoy the scenery, and interact with locals without ever feeling on guard. While the island is beautiful, it was the people, the atmosphere, and Marvin’s outstanding tour that made Roatán unforgettable for us. We would absolutely love to return. 💕🌴

Roatan is the largest of Honduras's Bay Islands, a long, narrow Caribbean island with white-sand beaches, reefs for diving and small fishing communities.
Roatan lies off the north coast of Honduras, a long ridge of green hills only a few kilometres wide. Its north shore faces the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, the second largest in the world, so snorkelling and scuba diving are the main attractions. West Bay Beach has a long curve of soft sand and shallow clear water, and West End, a laid-back village of dive shops, is nearby.
