Itinerary
Ateshgah (Fire Temple) is one of Azerbaijan’s most iconic historical landmarks, located on the Absheron Peninsula near Baku. Built in the 17th–18th centuries on a site where natural gas flames once burned continuously, it served as a sacred place of worship for Zoroastrians, as well as Hindu and Sikh pilgrims. Today, the temple is a fascinating museum that showcases Azerbaijan’s rich spiritual heritage and its unique connection to the title “Land of Fire.”
Heydar Aliyev Center is one of the world’s most iconic examples of contemporary architecture and a symbol of modern Azerbaijan. Designed by the renowned architect Zaha Hadid, the award-winning building is celebrated for its elegant flowing curves and the absence of straight lines. Opened in 2012, the center hosts world-class exhibitions, museums, cultural events, and art collections, making it one of Baku’s most visited landmarks and a must-see destination for visitors from around the world.
Yanar Dag (Burning Mountain) is one of Azerbaijan’s most extraordinary natural wonders. Known as the “Burning Mountain,” this hillside has been continuously ablaze for centuries due to natural gas seeping through the ground. The flames burn day and night in every season, creating a spectacular sight that perfectly reflects Azerbaijan’s nickname, the “Land of Fire.” Today, Yanar Dag is one of the country’s most popular attractions, offering visitors a unique opportunity to witness this rare and fascinating natural phenomenon

About Baku
Baku is Azerbaijan's capital on the Caspian Sea, where a walled medieval old town sits beside oil-era mansions and glass towers shaped like flames.
The walled Old City, Icherisheher, is a UNESCO-listed maze of lanes with the Maiden Tower and the Palace of the Shirvanshahs, both medieval. Beyond the walls, grand mansions from the oil boom of the late nineteenth century line the streets, and a long boulevard runs beside the Caspian. The three Flame Towers glow on the skyline, and Zaha Hadid's curving Heydar Aliyev Centre is a landmark of modern architecture.
Top-ranked sights in Baku: Bibi-Heybat Mosque (Bibiheybet Mescidi), Yanar Dag, Baku Old City (Icherisheher).
