Itinerary
We'll start at the Akilah Campus of Davis College - Rwanda's only all women's college. You'll be met by one of our Akilah Guides - current and former students who are Rwanda's next generation of leaders. After, you'll get an overview of our unique model of education, student life, and our plans for growth in Rwanda and the continent!
After campus, you'll walk to the Nyamirambo neighborhood with an Akilah Guide. Nyamirambo is one of the most historic and culturally diverse neighborhoods in Kigali. It is also home to many Akilah students as they complete their studies. Your guide will give you a glimpse into what life is like for Akilah students as they go to school, work, and live in Rwanda's capital city.
Before leaving Nyamirambo, we'll stop by the Nyamirambo Women's Center -- an Akilah partner, employer, and one of the best known all-women cooperatives in Kigali. They have excellent shopping for local handicrafts.

About Kigali
Kigali is Rwanda's capital, a tidy city on green hills in the middle of the country, with memorials, craft markets and routes to gorilla country.
Kigali spreads across several hills in the heart of Rwanda, at about 1,500 metres, so the air is mild all year. The Kigali Genocide Memorial tells the story of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi and honours those buried there. The Kandt House Museum holds natural history displays in the house of the German colonial resident Richard Kandt, and the Inema Arts Centre shows contemporary Rwandan art.
