【Private Matcha & Wagashi Experience】 Looking for an authentic experience right in the heart of the city? Join me for a private Matcha and Wagashi session that perfectly fits between your sightseeing. ・Story & Context First: Start with a brief look into the history and Zen mindfulness of tea culture to understand the "why" behind traditions. ・Step into Local Life: Visit historic tea utensil and confectionery shops to handpick seasonal sweets and matcha where locals genuinely shop. ・Touch Fine Artistry: Sit comfortably at tables and chairs (no painful sitting!) to handle high-quality ceramic tea bowls and learn the basics of whisking perfect matcha. ・Take the Ritual Home: The remaining premium matcha powder is yours as a souvenir (approx. 15g)—enough to host a tea party for 8–10 friends back home! ・All-Weather Friendly: Our easy 1.2 km (0.75 miles) walk is mostly through covered shopping arcades, perfect for rainy or hot days.
First, we'll head to a shop specializing in tea ceremony utensils and matcha. Here, you'll browse a beautiful selection of traditional tea ceremony tools and choose the high-quality matcha you'll use for your matcha experience that day.
Next, we'll move to a local Japanese confectionery shop. You'll select exquisite wagashi (traditional Japanese sweets), just like those served at formal tea gatherings.
Next, we'll move to a rental space where you can relax at a table and chair setting and experience whisking your own matcha. We'll show you tips for making it delicious, along with graceful serving etiquette. Finally, you'll savor your freshly prepared matcha together with the beautiful Wagashi you selected earlier. Please take your time and fully immerse yourself in the profound depths of Japanese culture.

Hiroshima, on Japan's Seto Inland Sea, is a rebuilt river city whose Peace Memorial Park and museum recall the atomic bombing of 1945.
Hiroshima spreads across the delta of the Ōta River, whose channels, bridges and trams give the city an open feel. The atomic bomb of 6 August 1945 destroyed most of it. The Peace Memorial Park beside the river holds the Atomic Bomb Dome, a ruined building left standing and listed by UNESCO, the Peace Memorial Museum and the Children's Peace Monument.
Top-ranked sights in Hiroshima: Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, Miyajima Island (Itsukushima).
