Itinerario

  1. EXCLUSIVE FOR PASSENGERS WITH HOTEL IN PUERTO MADRYN First stop: Ameghino Visitors Center, located at the entrance of Peninsula Valdes. From a view point, you can appreciate the geographical characteristics of this Natural Reserve: the New Gulf and San Jose Gulf at the same moment as well as the Birds Island.

    30 min

  2. We continue with the tour towards the only village at Península Valdes: Puerto Pirámides. This small port, is the only one from where the vessels are authorized to go on a whale watching from June to December. Usually breezy in the morning, Puerto Piramides offers an outstanding image, with its clear waters and white cliffs, protecting the small beach. For the beauty its environment, is the perfect place to rest, swim, dive and get fun at nature during the summer.

    3 h

  3. After visiting Puerto Pirámides, we keep going to the Atlantic Ocean: Caleta Valdes is the next stop. Crossing the steppe, going through 80 km. on a gravel road, watching the endemic land fauna, such as guanacos, choiques and maras and about 90 min later we arrive to the most representative geographical feature in Peninsula Valdes: the inlet where there’s an important colony of elephants seals. The giants of the sea, rest on the pebble beach, saving energy, offering us an unique spectacle of animals and natural sorroundings. At Caleta Valdes specific Reserve, there is a restaurant and public toilets.

    2 h

  4. Depending of the calendar of fauna and the weather conditions, instead of going to Caleta Valdes, we can go up to the north to Punta Norte. Arrival time at Puerto Madryn is around about 6 pm.

  • 5Go with them!

Can’t go wrong with this company. The communication was quick and deficient, pick up timely, organizational skills over the top. They even were able to help me buy my lunch, although I could not get cash from the ATM. The van is extremely comfortable and they adjust the itinerary as they go, to make sure you catch the best sights. Hugo, the guide, was one of those people who you don’t forget: you can’t beat 20+ years of experience in the area and so much talent in dealing with all sorts of people. He seemed to know everything, no question was left without a thorough answer: nature, history, politics and economics of the region. He was passionate about what he had to share, the sentiment was contagious. I recommend this agency 100%. I would book them again.

  • 5Great wildlife tour

It is a very long drive on dirt roads, but the wildlife was amazing, we saw llamas, a flock of rheas, penguins, mares, an armadillo, sea lions, elephant seals and orcas. We were blown away by the amount of wildlife, and in late January the wild flowers were all in bloom. Our guide Nicholas, was super enthusiastic and as excited as we were to see the wildlife, he was both knowledgeable and helpful. Would recommend, although I think we were very lucky to see as much as we did. Plenty of rest rooms and a good cafe for lunch.

  • 5Peninsula valdes day tour

Very good day tour, great information provided, got to view both wildlife and sealife on this tour, and two areas to purchase snacks/lunch. We got lucky with high tide coming in to see two orcas, lots of seals, penguins, sheep and guanaco.

  • 5Great business

Sussanich did a really good job organising our tour and was flexible and commercial in relation to pricing. They are also 10x more communicative than other providers and as western tourists, we appreciate that. We ended up doing the tour itself with Rustica Patagonia - probably because they work together, but that was very slightly confusing. Thank you to Lucia and Inaki!

About Puerto Madryn

Puerto Madryn is a Patagonian port on a wide, sheltered gulf, and the starting point for whale watching and for penguin and sea lion colonies.

Puerto Madryn faces the calm Golfo Nuevo on the Atlantic coast of Chubut province, a seaside town of broad beaches and a long waterfront promenade. Welsh settlers landed on this shore in 1865, and the valley towns of Gaiman and Trelew to the south still keep that heritage. The town itself is small and relaxed, with diving, sailing and sea views drawing most people outdoors.

Top-ranked sights in Puerto Madryn: Punta Tombo, Playa El Doradillo.
