Learn about the mountains, the people who worked in them from the past to the present, and keep an eye out for moose and other wildlife as you make your way to North River Falls, the highest falls in Nova Scotia. Leave the Jeep at the trailhead and walk (with your guide) 15 minutes down an ATV trail to the lookout, where you'll enjoy a beautiful view of this triple-decker falls. There's an option to hike to the bottom of the falls for intermediate-advanced hikers, or you can choose to explore more hidden gems in the Margaree Valley. If heading back to the valley to explore: Hike out, hop in the Jeep, and head down into Margaree Valley to discover scenic gems only found with a local guide! If hiking to the bottom: Continue 30-40 minutes down the mountain to the base of the falls to get a better look and feel the spray of the falls up close, then make your way back up to the Jeep and head out.
Climb up Fraser's Mountain to Valley View Chalets, where you will behold a beautiful panoramic view of the Margaree Valley below. Here, you will learn about the ancient land you are standing on and discover fascinating history about the family that lived there 200 years ago.

Cape Breton Island, the northern part of Nova Scotia, is a rugged island of highlands, ocean cliffs and lakes, with strong Gaelic and Acadian roots.
Cape Breton Island forms the north-eastern part of Nova Scotia, joined to the mainland by the Canso Causeway. At its centre lies Bras d'Or Lake, a large inland sea of sheltered coves, and its northern plateau is protected as Cape Breton Highlands National Park, where the Cabot Trail loops along cliffs and over mountains above the Gulf of St Lawrence and the Atlantic.
