2. The Concordia train station, designed at the beginning of the 19th century with striking architecture both inside and out, will be our starting point on this alternative route through the Bilbao La Vieja neighborhood.

3. Located to the left of the San Antón Bridge, it owes its name to an old tower house that stood nearby. Today it is a place full of bars and restaurants that reflects the change in the neighborhood in recent years.

4. The former nursery is an old building in which the children of day laborers were cared for and today the goal is to turn it into a center to promote innovation projects. Nearby we will also visit different works of urban art made by local artists (external visit only).

About Bilbao

Bilbao is a Basque city on the Nervión River, a former industrial port reborn around a titanium-clad art museum and an old quarter of pintxo bars.

Bilbao grew rich on iron ore and shipbuilding, and its industrial riverside has been turned to culture. The Guggenheim Museum, designed by Frank Gehry and covered in titanium, curves beside the river, with a giant flower-covered dog and a spider sculpture outside. The Fine Arts Museum, in a park nearby, and the Zubizuri footbridge by Santiago Calatrava are other stops.
