1. Departure from the hotel to the Tierra Mayor Valley, in this great snowy valley we begin the sleigh ride pulled by Huskies, after crossing the valley we enter the forest through an old woodcutter road, in the middle of this centenary forest of Lengas we arrive at the refuge del Hachero (small log cabin heated to firewood). We say goodbye to the Huskies and our guide helps us to put on our rackets (without which we would not be able to walk due to the thickness of the snow that normally reaches the subway), the objective: the Alvear Icefall and the Valley viewpoint, return to the refuge is faster and more fun since it is downhill and culminates in the refuge of Hachero, in the refuge we recover energies with a hot chocolate. From the refuge of the hachero we return to the Tierra Mayor valley walking with snowshoes. Departure: 08:30 AM

About Ushuaia

Ushuaia, on the Beagle Channel in Tierra del Fuego, is often called the southernmost city in the world, a port ringed by snowy peaks.

Ushuaia sits on a narrow shelf between the Beagle Channel and the Martial mountains, in the Argentine half of Tierra del Fuego. It began as a mission and later became a penal colony, and the old prison, now a museum, tells that story alongside the maritime history of the far south. Painted houses climb the slope, and the harbour is where expedition ships leave for Antarctica.
