About Lhasa
Lhasa, high on the Tibetan Plateau, is a city of whitewashed monasteries and prayer wheels, crowned by the Potala Palace on its red hill.
Lhasa lies at about 3,650 metres in a broad valley by the Kyichu River, ringed by bare mountains, and is the cultural heart of Tibet.
