This theater is the oldest and most robust example of the Roman Theaters in Anatolia that has survived to the present day with its stage. Its architect is Zenon, son of Theodorus of Aspendos. It was built during the reign of Antonius Piu (138-164). The theater was presented to the local gods of the city and the emperor family.
