About Kos
Kos is a Greek island in the Dodecanese close to the Turkish coast, with ancient ruins, sandy beaches and a knights' castle at the harbour.

Hippocrates, the father of medicine, is said to have been born on the island, and a huge old plane tree in town is named after him.
