Kiwi Wilderness Experience

Experience a magical evening at Tāwharanui Regional Park on a guided night walk through protected native bush. Led by an expert local guide, discover the park's unique ecology, conservation success stories, and fascinating nocturnal wildlife as darkness transforms the landscape. Search for New Zealand's iconic kiwi in its natural habitat while learning about its behaviour and the conservation efforts protecting this treasured species. You may also encounter other native wildlife, making every walk a unique and memorable experience. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the forest after dark, surrounded by fresh coastal air and the sounds of the native bush, an authentic small-group experience away from the crowds. For added flexibility, a self-drive option is available. This 2.5-hour guided experience begins at Tāwharanui Regional Park (outside the toilet block), where you will meet your guide at the scheduled time. Please note that transportation from Auckland CBD is not included.
