Route
We will start from the city of Salta by route 68, towards the city of land and wine, about 180 km from Salta, through the center and south of the Lerma Valley, and then enter the Nature Reserve of the Quebrada de las Conchas. A low-rise 90 km ledge road leads us through a narrow valley surrounded by colorful hills, where orange and red predominate. Here we will find geoforms carved by wind and water over millions of years (Devil's Throat, Amphitheater, Castles, Parrot House, Friar, Windows, Yesera, Obelisk, Toad).

Here we will find geoforms carved by wind and water over millions of years (Devil's Throat, Amphitheater, Castles, Parrot House, Friar, Windows, Yesera, Obelisk, Toad). Fossil remains of seashells and fish have been found. It is worth stopping and walking the Devil's Throat, you can climb its walls very carefully.
Cafayate is a town in the province of Salta, in northwestern Argentina. It is located in the Calchaquíes valleys, an area known for its reddish rock formations. There are several vineyards in the area and, in the locality, the Museum of Vine and Wine explains the production process of this product. Near the town square is the Rodolfo Bravo Regional and Archaeological Museum, with objects from local excavations, and the 19th century Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary.
After the visit, free time for lunch (at the expense of the passenger) and touring the village, you can visit the Wine Museum (entrance not included), which has state-of-the-art technology and presents the history of winemaking from its beginnings.

About Salta
Salta, a colonial city in a green valley of north-west Argentina, is the base for the Andean canyons, vineyards and high desert of the region.
Salta sits in the Lerma Valley at about 1,200 metres, ringed by green hills at the edge of the Andes. Its centre keeps Spanish colonial buildings around the Plaza 9 de Julio, among them a pink-fronted cathedral, the arcaded Cabildo and the Convent of San Bernardo with its carved wooden door. A cable car climbs Cerro San Bernardo for a view over the rooftops.
Top-ranked sights in Salta: Great Salt Flats (Salinas Grandes), Devil’s Throat (Garganta del Diablo), Purmamarca.
