The lighthouse has a range of 25 nautical miles (about 46 km), and is therefore referred to as an offshore lighthouse.

About Sorrento

Sorrento ligt op kliffen boven de Baai van Napels, een charmant, naar citroen geurend stadje en een goede basis voor Capri, Pompeji en de Amalfikust.

Het centrum van het stadje is de Piazza Tasso, vanwaar smalle steegjes langs kerken, winkels met limoncello en houtinlegwerk en het vredige klooster van San Francesco lopen.
