A visit to the Sahara desert is definitely an experience everyone should have at least once in their lifetime. It is a journey well worth the effort and you will have fond memories to last you forever. Imagine yourself on top a camel, trekking through the Sahara desert. About Merzouga

Merzouga is a village at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes in Morocco's Sahara, where camel treks and desert camps head out among tall golden dunes.

Merzouga lies in the south-east of Morocco, not far from the Algerian border, at the edge of Erg Chebbi, a sea of orange dunes that rise as high as about 150 metres. The village is a scatter of flat-roofed mud-brick and concrete houses, with guesthouses and kasbah-style hotels set along the dune edge. The surrounding landscape is stony desert, scattered with oases and dry riverbeds.

Top-ranked sights in Merzouga: Lake Dayet Sriji (Lake of Merzouga).
