Batumi is Georgia's Black Sea resort, a subtropical port of pebble beaches, modern towers, a botanical garden and an old town of cafés.
Batumi lies on the Black Sea near the Turkish border, backed by green mountains that catch plenty of rain, giving the city a subtropical climate with palms and citrus. A long seafront boulevard of parks and fountains runs along the pebble beach, with the Alphabet Tower, the moving Ali and Nino statue and modern hotel towers.
