In evidenza

This Wildlife Viewing Van Tour is a great way to see the unique animals of Yellowstone National Park. We begin in the fun gateway town of West Yellowstone. The early morning part of the tour explores wildlife haunts in the famous Shadow Canyon of the Madison River. This area is home to bear and elk. Later we scope for wildlife on the shoulders of one of Yellowstone's tallest peaks, Mount Washburn. Next we explore the Lamar Valley, known as the Serengeti of North America. We will use spotting scopes to look for wolves, bears and other wildlife. Enjoy a hot drink and morning snack while watching wolves. Next we visit the Mammoth Hot Springs Terraces for a short walk. If you don't feel like walking we find a safe, scenic spot for you to wait for the group near the van. Finally, we head back toward West Yellowstone stopping for additional wildlife sightings along the way. The day concludes back at West Yellowstone.

  • 5Wonderful Wildlife Tour

I had a wonderful time on this tour! We were lucky enough to see a grizzly bear, mountain goats, and plenty of bison from a distance. Our guide, Tim, was knowledgeable, kind, and dedicated to helping us see as much wildlife as possible. He also set up a spotting scope so we could get a better view of the animals. I really appreciated his enthusiasm and effort, it made the experience even more memorable. Highly recommend!

  • 5A wonderful upper loop tour with exceptional guide at Yellowstone tours

Tim our tour guide was an exceptional teacher and guide . It started with a text announcing his impending arrival time and place. Knowledgeable and attentive are adjectives that do not come close to the those that adequately describe him and our tour. He is a born teacher who thoroughly understands the information, explains everything in details like the best teacher out there, but not boring at all. Added amenities maybe taken for granted were a step stool for assisting on and off the bus, binoculars at hand at each seat all day, a bag of snacks, a great lunch with selection of beverages, attention to need for bathroom breaks. He stopped at every opportunity which were multiple to see the many animal species who came into our view. My only regret is that I didn’t tip him enough for his value. He deserved more. Thank you Tim, and be well. Best wishes.

  • 5Highly recommend this tour!

The tour was wonderful and we really enjoyed it. Our driver, Rory, was incredibly knowledgeable and had great stories and insight. It was so relaxing to just sit back and look out the window as someone else navigated driving and parking. It was also fun to meet other travelers from around the country. We saw a lot of wildlife, including a black bear, pronghorn sheep, and a ton of bison. We decided to explore the south loop on our own and I regret not using this tour company to explore the south loop as well.

  • 5Informative tour

I would recommend this tour on your first day in the park. Along with seeing animals, you get a good layout of the upper loop. The sandwiches and snacks provided were good. Connor was very knowledgeable and answered lots of questions from the group. We stopped at several places for pictures. Our only con was sitting in the back of the van. We were picked up last, so really had no other option. Bison were crossing in front of the van and we couldn't see any of it. You have to keep moving, so once they had crossed the van would take off. Otherwise, we had a great day and tour.

About West Yellowstone

West Yellowstone is a small Montana town at the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park, ringed by forested mountain country and rivers.

West Yellowstone sits at about 2,000 metres on the Montana side of the Idaho border, right at the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park. Its streets of log-fronted shops, motels and restaurants serve the park, and a museum in the old railway depot tells how early visitors arrived by train. A wildlife centre cares for grizzly bears and wolves that cannot be returned to the wild.
