You visit a non-profit foundation specialized in education and nutrition of socially disadvantaged children as well as elderly people, which is located along the west bank of the most important river in town, Rio Ozama. Take part in a preschool class and after on have a walk through the neighborhood and see 4 small lakes fed by natural springs so called Pozos. Feel free to stop at one of the colmados right at the street to get a refreshing drink (on surcharge). About Santo Domingo

Santo Domingo, the Dominican capital, has a UNESCO-listed colonial quarter of stone churches, forts and cobbled streets beside the Ozama River.

The Zona Colonial of Santo Domingo is one of the oldest European towns in the Americas, a grid of stone streets laid out in the early sixteenth century. Calle Las Damas runs past the Fortaleza Ozama, a fortress above the river. The Catedral Primada de América, begun soon afterwards, is the oldest cathedral in the Americas, and the Alcázar de Colón, a palace built for Columbus's son Diego, overlooks Plaza de España.

Top-ranked sights in Santo Domingo: Columbus Lighthouse (Faro a Colón), Ciudad Colonial (Zona Colonial), Calle Las Damas.
