We begin our Amalfi Coast tour by spending the morning in the beautiful town of Ravello.   1. The cathedral of Sant'Andrea is the main Catholic place of worship in Amalfi, the bishop's seat of the Archdiocese of Amalfi-Cava de 'Tirreni. Dedicated to Saint Andrew the Apostle, it is located in Piazza Duomo, in the city center.

  2. Villa Cimbrone is a historic building located in the Municipality of Ravello. Built on a rocky promontory overlooking the Amalfi Coast, part of the structure is now used as a hotel. The area is largely occupied by a park adorned with statues, antiquities, fountains and caves, as well as having a belvedere (the Terrace of Infinity) overlooking the Gulf of Salerno and the neighboring coastal towns, considered one of the most suggestive world.

About Salerno

Salerno is a port city at the eastern end of the Amalfi Coast, with a Norman cathedral, a palm-lined seafront and a castle on the hill above.

Salerno curves around a gulf with a long palm-lined waterfront, the Lungomare, and a medieval centre of narrow lanes behind it. The cathedral, begun in the eleventh century under the Norman duke Robert Guiscard, has an arcaded atrium and a tall bell tower, and the city was home to the Schola Medica Salernitana, one of the earliest medical schools in Europe.
