In evidenza

Local professional English-speaking private driver. Pompeii is a vast archaeological site, it is so large that you can easily get lost inside. Once a flourishing and sophisticated Roman city, Pompeii was buried under meters of ash and pumice by the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD The site is constantly evolving thanks to the continuous excavations that offer new discoveries every year. A professional private guide is highly recommended to be able to visit it better in detail in relaxation in its most important structures. The guide is on request will help you skip the long lines at the ticket office and is not included in the tour price. A 2 hour stop is foreseen. The transfer to Naples after the visit to the excavations will last around 30/40 minutes, depending on where the arrival point is located, traffic permitting. About Salerno

Salerno is a port city at the eastern end of the Amalfi Coast, with a Norman cathedral, a palm-lined seafront and a castle on the hill above.

Salerno curves around a gulf with a long palm-lined waterfront, the Lungomare, and a medieval centre of narrow lanes behind it. The cathedral, begun in the eleventh century under the Norman duke Robert Guiscard, has an arcaded atrium and a tall bell tower, and the city was home to the Schola Medica Salernitana, one of the earliest medical schools in Europe. Above, Arechi Castle looks out over the bay.

Top-ranked sights in Salerno: Archaeological Park of Paestum (Parco Archeologico di Paestum), Salerno Cathedral (Duomo di Salerno).
