3. Please note that the Polish word pierogi is plural. Its singular equivalent, pieróg is not used. It is so because of the size of the dumpling - pierogi are always served as two or more. Throughout this trip you will try countless types of pierogi. Try traditional dumplings filled with forcemeat, sauerkraut and mushrooms and special dumplings with berries and cream or filled with duck or game. You'll visit 4 delicious venues over 3 hours – all in the central city area. The walk is designed to show you a range of different dumplings at some of Gdansk's most authentic places. About Gdańsk

Gdańsk is a Baltic port in northern Poland with a rebuilt Hanseatic old town, amber shops, a medieval crane and the shipyard where Solidarity began.

Gdańsk grew rich on the Baltic grain and timber trade, and its Main Town was rebuilt after the damage of the Second World War in the style of earlier centuries. The Long Market is the centre, with Neptune's Fountain and the Artus Court, and the gates at either end open onto the Motława River. St Mary's Church, one of the largest brick churches in the world, rises above the narrow houses.
