You will meet your local guide at Porta Nuova and walk through Assisi’s main drag, where ancient stone walls and artisan traditions still live side by side. She will share fun anecdotes about what it feels like living in a real medieval town and lead you to one of the last authentic leather shops remaining in town. Once there, you will meet the owner who will warmly welcome you into his world. You will instantly be charmed by the rich scent of leather and get to know how meticulous working with leather truly is. About Assisi

Assisi, in Umbria, is a pink-stone hill town and pilgrimage centre, the birthplace of St Francis and home to a basilica covered in frescoes.

Assisi spreads across the slope of Mount Subasio, its buildings of pale pink and white limestone. The Basilica of St Francis, built in the thirteenth century over the saint's tomb, has two churches stacked one above the other, with frescoes by Giotto and his circle and by Cimabue. The basilica and the town form a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
