Itinerario

  1. Plitvice Lakes National Park is one of the oldest national parks in Southeast Europe and the largest national park in Croatia. In 1979, Plitvice Lakes National Park was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list. The waters flowing over the limestone and chalk have, over thousands of years, deposited travertine barriers, creating natural dams which in turn have created a series of beautiful lakes, caves, and waterfalls. These geological processes continue today. The forests in the park are home to bears, wolves, and many rare bird species. No wonder Plitvice Lakes is the most visited National park in Croatia! Stop for a few hours and explore this beautiful park before continuing to Zagreb!

About Zadar

Zadar, on Croatia's Dalmatian coast, is an old Roman and Venetian town on a peninsula, known for its sea organ and the sunsets beside it.

The old town of Zadar sits on a narrow peninsula, bordered by Venetian walls and the Land Gate. The remains of a Roman forum lie beside the round church of St Donatus, a ninth-century building that is the best-known landmark. Kalelarga, the main pedestrian street, follows the line of the Roman main street, with shops and cafés, and the cathedral of St Anastasia stands nearby.

Top-ranked sights in Zadar: Sea Organ (Morske Orgulje), Zadar Roman Forum, Church of St. Donatus.
