07:00 your driver meets you in the hotel lobby. Enjoy your private three hours transfer to Petra. The vehicle is equipped with free WiFi.
The red rose rock city Petra is one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. This ancient wonder is the biggest attraction of Jordan and was first established around the 6th century B.C. by the Nabataean Arabs. This nomadic tribe settled in the area and laid the foundation of a commercial empire that extended into Syria. Walk on your own – or if selected with your private local guide – through the canyon, the Siq, ending in front of the most beautiful monument: The Treasury. Following the main trail you see other colourful sandstone buildings like the Street of Facades, the Royal Tombs and Pharaoh’s Castle. It is also worth it to climb the 800 stairs to the mighty Monastery El Deir, the path winds up just behind the restaurant area. El Deir is not included in the standard guided tour, but it is easy to follow the path on your own. Return via the main trail to the entrance gate.
After your Petra visit, meet your driver again, taking you back to your Dead Sea hotel.

About Sweimah
Sweimah is a resort area on Jordan's Dead Sea shore, the lowest dry land on Earth, where the salty water holds swimmers afloat.
Sweimah, also spelt Sweimeh, lies on the north-eastern shore of the Dead Sea in Jordan, where the land falls to more than 430 metres below sea level, the lowest dry land on Earth. The lake's water is nearly ten times as salty as the ocean, so bathers float without effort, and its mineral-rich mud is spread over the skin. Resort hotels sit among palms along the shore, with the brown hills of the Jordanian plateau rising behind.
