Get ready to explore one of the world’s most spectacular natural wonders — the Perito Moreno Glacier, named by Condé Nast Traveler as one of the seven most wonderful places on Earth! We’ll depart early from El Calafate for an 80 km scenic drive to the walkways facing the glacier. Stroll along paths and stairs connecting multiple viewpoints, each offering a unique perspective of this majestic ice giant. Want to take it to the next level? Add an optional one-hour boat ride on Lake Argentino’s Rico Branch, sailing just 150 meters from the glacier’s south face — an unforgettable experience! Remember to get your National Park ticket online (Río Mitre y Glaciar Perito Moreno – 1 day) or at the park entrance in pesos, cash, or card.
The best known and most impressive glacier in Los Glaciares National Park. This glacier shows a surprising and curious phenomenon, in which its great mass of ice continuously advances, causing the accumulation, rupture and detachment of gigantic blocks of ice on its 5 km wide front, located on the Canal de los Témpanos; that's where the numerous ice fragments of the glacier sail. The front of the glacier exceeds 60 meters above the water at its maximum height, from where pieces of various sizes fall continuously, producing a stridency comparable to the sound of thunder.
Upon reaching the Perito Moreno Glacier, we will cross the walkways that have balconies at different levels and angles connected by paths and stairways which can be covered in its entirety during the excursion and thus we will be able to appreciate this impressive and wonderful glacier from different points.

5Nice tour
Nice tour 10 people total. Comfortable tour van. Nice boat ride to the glacier. Plenty of time after boat to view glacier from many elevated platforms.
5It was a most memorable...
It was a most memorable experience. The boat ride to the glacier is a must. Very well organized trip.
4Lots of ice
This was a very good tour, with a guide on a bus from the town of El Calafate to the glacier (about 2 hours), a boat ride of about an hour for the requisite pictures of the glacier, a 2-hour stop at walks above the glacier and a large cafeteria, and a bit over 1 hour back to El Calafate. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was the lengthy stop at the walkways/cafeteria. It was raining quite heavily, so the walkways were only 10 minutes and 2 hours at the cafeteria was much too long. However, even if the weather was perfect, 2 hours was too long because the views from the walkways was largely the same. I would recommend 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours there. Otherwise, you must not miss the main event.
5Spectacular glacier
Fabulous day experiencing all the glacier has to offer. This is a glacier worth visiting and the trip is highly recommended.

5A great way to experience Perito Moreno Glacier
A very well organized excursion that delivered everything it promised. The pacing was excellent, and the guide was the best—personable, intelligent, and well prepared. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to visit Perito Moreno Glacier in one day’s time and to make good use of their time for their visit.
El Calafate is a small Patagonian town on the shore of Lago Argentino, the base for the Perito Moreno Glacier and Los Glaciares National Park.
El Calafate lies on the south shore of Lago Argentino, a milky turquoise lake fed by glacial meltwater, with the Andes on the western horizon. The town is named after the calafate, a thorny shrub with dark berries, and a local saying promises that anyone who eats them will return to Patagonia. It was founded in the 1920s to serve the surrounding sheep estancias and now exists chiefly as the gateway to Los Glaciares National Park.
Top-ranked sights in El Calafate: Los Glaciares National Park (Parque Nacional Los Glaciares), Perito Moreno Glacier, Argentino Lake (Lago Argentino).
