Il duomo di Messina è una perfetta copia di quello normanno, è in stile gotico e all'interno conserva ancora oggi un mosaico bizantino risalente al 1600
Nella piazza del duomo si trova il campanile e al suo interno vi è l'orologio astronomico più grande e complesso al mondo.
L'unica chiesa sopravvissuta al terremoto del 1908, risale al 13 secolo è ha uno stile bizantino, normanno e romanico.
