This museum brings together important pieces of the different pre-Hispanic cultures that occupied the area: Paracas, Nasca, Wari and even Inca.
The Lord of Luren was a dark-skinned Saint from Ica, whose carved image was made in Spain in the year 1556. Every year a procession takes place in his image which is accompanied by hundreds of devotees.
La Huacachina is a famous lagoon in the middle of the Ica desert that forms a unique oasis in the region. It attracts various types of migratory birds and it is part of the community's oral tradition.

About Ica
Ica is a desert city on Peru's south coast, known for its vineyards and pisco, the nearby oasis of Huacachina and the Nazca Lines to the south.
Ica lies in a dry river valley on Peru's southern coast, a green strip of vineyards, cotton fields and orchards between the Pacific and the Andean foothills. The Ica Regional Museum holds mummies, textiles and trophy heads from the Paracas, Nazca and Inca cultures, and the colonial centre has a plaza with a cathedral.
