Itinerario
This is a day full of contrasts. We start our day driving through the ever green and rich ranchland of the Tarqui Valley. The first stop will be at one of the most important historical places of the independence battles. From here you will be able to appreciate the beautiful Andes landscape. Next, we will reach the waterfalls of El Chorro de Giron, an amazing area of cloud forest covered in bromeliads, orchids and soft green moss. Here, you will hike through the lush vegetation to reach the cascades, a 250 foot high waterfall.
Then we will driver to Busa lake where we will do a short hike around the rim where you will be able to enjoy the beautiful views. We will stop for lunch at a local restaurant and return to Cuenca.

We had an absolutely wonderful tour and day with Alejandro! He went above and beyond to make our experience special and memorable!
5Best tour in Ecuador!
I have traveled all over the world and Diego is easily the best travel guide I’ve ever had. I will hands down use him the next time I am in Ecuador. His knowledge of everything - history, culture, food, drink, flora, fauna, art, etc. is incredible. He’s fun, interesting, easy to talk to. I booked a solo tour and had a wonderful time. He really cares about you doing the things you would like to do. The dude knows everything about Ecuador and will answer anything with such a passion that you remember. I feel confident relating this information now when I share these stories. This was the highlight of my travels in Ecuador. Stop hesitating, and book it! Or message and ask Diego what other tours he has. I know he offers a number of them!
5Falls and lake were fantasic.
Had a great time with Luis! He was very informative and took the time to talk about anything! The falls were amazing and the hike were all steps so not bad at all. Busa lake was a bit of a let down after the falls but it was a nice recreation area and would have been great with warmer weather. Overall, the tour was very good, and our guide made it better!!
55 star tour. Will use them again
Wilson was great. Good driving, good communication (I know zero spanish). Was very patient and catered to our interest. Was very knowledgeable in a wide range of information.

This tour was fantastic. Diego was one of the most knowledgeable guides I’ve had anywhere in the world. He is a wealth of information and is passionate about his job and this area. I cannot recommend this experience enough.

About Cuenca
Cuenca is a high Andean city in southern Ecuador, a UNESCO-listed colonial centre with a blue-domed cathedral, flower markets and four rivers.
Cuenca sits at about 2,500 metres in a basin of the southern Andes, and its historic centre is listed by UNESCO. The Tomebamba River runs beside the old quarter, with colonial houses overlooking its banks. The New Cathedral, with its three blue domes, faces Parque Calderón, and the nearby flower market sells roses and orchids. Spanish settlers founded the city in 1557 close to the Inca city of Tomebamba.
